Cumbria Life 2013 Food & Drink Awards

Cumbria Life is once again delighted to celebrate the best of the county’s food and drink, the businesses behind them, and their quality, innovation, and enterprise. We invite you to join us.

On Friday 25 January, we shall be hosting Cumbria's own 2013 Food & Drink Awards, recognising the great and the good at this unique and prestigious event. Visit www.cumbrialifefoodawards.co.uk for full details.

Cumbria Life is not alone in understanding and appreciating the importance of food and drink to our county and its economy. Farming is evident across the whole landscape, shaping the scenery through its land use, creating the iconic rural idyll that tourists flock to see, and us locals try not to take for granted! Our farmers produce the highest quality local produce, that in turn become the contents of shopping baskets of residents and visitors alike, and the essential ingredients for the dishes lovingly created and gracing the tables of the county’s best hotels, restaurants and pubs.

We think this is worthy of greater praise above and beyond the monthly features within the food and drink pages of our magazine. Hence these annual Awards.

We are thrilled to be returning to Kendal College, our Awards partner and home to the nationally recognised Lakes Hotel School, a hotbed of emerging chef talent. On the night, our host will be Cumbria Life columnist Stuart Maconie. Join Stuart, the independent judges and your industry peers, as Cumbria Life points the spotlight upon the worthy winners and the gallant runners-up, at the 2013 Food & Drink Awards. It’s going to be a cracking evening.
